Town of Windsor
4084 Mueller Road * DeForest, WI 53532 * Phone (608) 846-
TrErr
March 11, 1996
MAR 13 1996
D.C. PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT
ZONING DIVISION
Jim Gregorius
Dane County Zoning
City-County Building, Room 116
Madison, WI 53709
RE: Rezone #6551
CUP # 1324
Casey's General Store
Dear Jim,
At their regular meeting on March 7, 1996, the Windsor Town Board voted unanimously to
recommend denial of both of these petitions.
This action confirmed the Plan Commission recommendation and the findings that the
proposed site was not suitable as a location for a gasoline station due to high ground water
levels and the proximity of a small wetland area. Also, the petitioner failed to conclusively
demonstrate that they could provide adequate protection of these resources and prevent
contamination of the Windsor Sanitary District Well which is located 1,000 feet east of the
property.
It should be noted that at the Windsor Plan Commission, the petitioner represented that they
would be withdrawing these petitions, but no formal written request to such effect was
delivered.
Sincerely,
Jim Bricker, Business Manager
Town of Windsor
JB:jas
