<br /> The undersigned residents of the Town of Vermont oppose the conversion of
<br /> agricultural land to residential use as proposed in zoning petition # 6606 . This
<br /> proposed zoning change violates the Town of Vermont Land Use Plan. While
<br /> limited corner construction of housing in agricultural fields has been approved, this
<br /> particular site overly encroaches into a higher value agricultural field. Although
<br /> there is some slope on this site, it is bottom land in what is now a contiguous valley
<br /> containing some of the most productive soils in the Town of Vermont. House
<br /> construction at this site would not only withdraw land from the agricultural
<br /> production base but its physical location would impede future agricultural activity.
<br /> We respectfully request you to support the Town Land Use Plan and concur with
<br /> the Town of Vermont Plan Commission to deny this zoning change.
