State of Wisconsin 1 DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
Madison Area Headquarters
WISCONSIN 2801 Coh Street,Suite 101
DEPT.OF NATURAL RESOURCES Fitchburg,Wisconsin 53713
TELEPHONE 608-273-5950
George E.Meyer TELEFAX 608-273-5958
Secretary
August 16, 1996
DR MICHAEL WILSON
7686 MIDTOWN ROAD
VERONA WI 53593 KE
Dear Dr. ilson:
In follow-up to our phone conversation this week, I wanted to tell you
how much I admire the effort that you and Pat and your neighbors have
put into the prairie restoration on your conservancy project.
Among restoration projects on private land in Dane County, your prairie
is notable for its size and diversity. In fact, only a handful of our
public restorations can match the species diversity you have planted.
This is a particular accomplishment since I know you have taken pains
to use only local genetic material in your project. I have received
comments this summer on how beautiful your prairie wildiflowers are!
As I mentioned on the phone, due to the uncertainty involved with the
department's ongoing reorganization, I hesitate to promise that we will
be able to assist you in burning your prairie next April . If we are
still able to muster a burn crew, however, I will do my best to get out
to help. Don't hesitate to contact me in February or March when we
should have a better feeling for our spring work schedule.
Sincerely:
Michael Foy
Wildlife Biologist
Primed OD
Recycled
Parc
