At the time of purchase the property held a <br /> residence of approximately 1000 square feet and a detached garage with an attached open shed consisting <br /> of nearly 1000 square feet. <br /> Recently we received a letter from Dane CO Zoning that a zoning permit was not obtained for the <br /> accessory building shed. Since the shed was existing when we purchased the property we could not have <br /> obtained a permit. When we inquired at Dane CO Zoning about obtaining a proper permit we were told <br /> our current zoning would not allow a detached accessory building to exceed 1/2 the square foot of the <br /> residence. The zoning inspector,Patrick Anderson suggested looking into a rezone of the parcel. <br /> Our parcel is currently zoned residential. Currently numerous area parcels are zoned RH--rural <br /> homes. Therefore, I would request rezoning the parcel RH-2 to match area properties.
