•
2 July 1996
TO: Dane County Zoning
RE: Re-zoning 2 lots on the Ken and Tina Nelson Farm, Town of Deerfield
Ken and Tina Nelson have owned 120 acres in Section 8 of the Town of Deerfield, since 1977.
They are moving to the Middleton area this fall. They have arranged to sell their property to a
neighboring farmer, Ron Dorshorst. Ron has worked the crop land for the last 14 years. As part
of the transaction, the Nelsons wish to re-zone two parcels as per the attached "Riesop" map
dated 7/12/96. Lot 1 consists of a home, an extensive landscaped yard, and some future pasture
area for the barn. (Approximately 7 acres to RH-2) Lot 2 consists of a "stone pasture" with no
history of agricultural use and a nominal sized field of low ground. (Approximately 20 acres to
RH-4)
The unusual "double 66 foot flags" connect the workland as per ordinance/regulation. Mr.
Dorshorst will continue to crop the workland, now as an owner. There have been no other
re-zonings of this farm since the Nelson's ownership in 1977.
If you require additional information, please contact me at 608-764-5451.
Sincerely,
David R. Dinkel,
as Agent for
Ken and Tina Nelson
