This proposed expansion of a dog kennel/training facility is in an agricultural <br /> preservation area of the Town of Sun Prairie. The area proposed for expansion is an open field <br /> with single family homes on the lots to the east and south. <br /> The relevant adopted town/county policy is: <br /> Only commercial uses clearly related to or compatible with agricultural production <br /> should be permitted to rezone in designated agricultural preservation areas. Small <br /> family owned and operated businesses that provide a community service and do not <br /> change the character or use of the property are generally permitted but require <br /> Town Board approval. <br /> This site apparently met the criteria several years ago when the original rezoning and kennel use <br /> was approved. <br /> Approval of the expansion should be conditioned upon: <br /> • maximum number of dogs <br /> • hours of operation <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.) <br /> Consideration should be given to the provisions for disposal of animal wastes, control of odors, <br /> control of noise and control of pests that can be associated with kennel operations. <br /> DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY <br /> CTH "TT" is a controlled access highway. A change of use permit will be required from the <br /> Transportation Committee. <br />
