Aplin
4355 Krueger Road
Marshall, WI 53559
August 6, 1996
Dane County Zoning Office
Room 116, City-County Building
210 Martin Luther King Boulevard
Madison, WI 53709
HAND DELIVERED
Re: Rezoning of Aplin Parcel from Argicultural One Exclusive to
Recreational One Usage
Dear Sir/Madam:
This letter is to request that the parcel described in the within
legal description and map in the Town of Deerfield, owned by my
wife Anne and me, be rezoned from A-1 Exclusive usage to RE-1 usage
by the Board at its earliest opportunity. I enclose a check in
amount of $100. 00 which I understand to be the appropriate
application fee for this request.
It is our intention to make the requested parcel available for use
by two not-for-profit associations, the Deerfield Area Soccer
Boosters and Deerfield Community Center, as a soccer facility.
There is currently no adequate soccer field available within the
Deerfield School District for the youth in the area. Both local
soccer programs have a large number of participants, and soccer is
increasingly popular among children and their families. My wife
and I want to provide our own children, and all of the other kids
in the area, with adequate soccer facilities. We will not seek or
accept any remuneration for the use of the fields by the two local
associations or by the public in general.
The parcel in question has been graded slightly, so that it houses
two large, flat playing areas. There is sufficient room within the
parcel, apart from the playing surfaces, to provide on-site parking
off of Krueger Road for parents and coaches attending games and
practices. The parcel has been planted with Madison Parks grass. It
is our intention to put portable soccer goals on the parcel when
the grass has sprouted. My family will maintain the fields for the
benefit of the local soccer programs. We expect that the fields
will be used during daylight hours in the more temperate months
(March-October) of the year.
I did discuss this proposal with my neighbor across the road, and
he had no objections to it. In fact, he thought his younger
relatives might play on the soccer field if the proposal is
