Since that time,the Union Tabernacle congregation has increased exponentially, <br /> in spirit,in number,and in vision. As a result of that growth,Calvary allowed Union Tabernacle <br /> (UT) to utilize the used parsonage for administrative and programmatic purposes. <br /> Since that time, UT has also increased its staff and services in order to offer more extensive <br /> services to the South Madison community. In January of 1996, Calvary accepted UT's offer to <br /> purchase its property: church building,parsonage,and 4.5 acres. The closing of the deal hinges <br /> upon the following contingencies: <br /> (Proposed uses): <br /> -UT receiving conditional use approval for expanding and/or adding a <br /> worship facility. <br /> -UT receiving conditional use approval for a private parochial school to be <br /> attached to current facility. <br /> -UT receiving conditional use for additional facilities i.e. gymnasium, <br /> recreation center,etc. <br /> -UT receiving conditional use approval for church and outreach office, and <br /> additional community meeting space. <br /> It is our desire to centralize the se;vices of our organization. The logistics of ministry is difficult <br /> enough without having programs and staff scattered all over the city. The expansion of facilities <br /> will be done in phases. We expect to begin in 5 - 7 years. This property has been used for <br /> religious purposes since the early 1960's.
