Activities and developments that are exempt from Erosion Control Plan (ECP) <br />requirements include: <br />• Agricultural activities; <br />• Government highway and street construction <br />• Commercial construction requiring a Wisconsin Department of Commerce permit <br />• Single-family residential construction regulated by the Uniform Dwelling Code (UDC permits may <br />still be required) s <br />If your project will involve earth moving or a land distyrbance near a waterway, wetland or floodplain, <br />you will need to apply,for F i g QWing Permit. Activities exempt from filling and grading <br />permit requiremer�.IitW. <br />• Private, residential septic system ti kJ lh tion; <br />• Single-family residential co'rrstruction on slopes of less than 12% and disturb less than 4,000 sq. feet; <br />• Soil conservation, wildlife or other environmental projects approved by federal, state or county <br />environmental agencies. <br />What is the review process? <br />Your Erosion Conor o;jip1p� &tdi??,g permit application must be filed with Dane County Zoning <br />Division staff for plan -is forwarded to the Dane County Land Conservation <br />Department for technical revieA -Z4niqg Pivision or Land Conservation staff will inform you of any <br />deficiencies in your application and ask you to make necessary changes. Applications are usually <br />reviewed within 10 days. Once all plans and other perinit requirements are met, the Zoning Division will <br />approve your permit and mail you a signed permit card.
