Zoning Department <br /> ' We would like to express our concern about the petition #6747 by <br /> Rodney J. and Terri L. Ripley to rezone their property on Tonto <br /> Tr. from R-1 to A-2 ( 4 ) for several reasons. It is our <br /> understanding that the lots on Tonto Tr. and DeMarco Tr. are all <br /> zoned R-1 and we feel they should remain so. <br /> It appears that Mr. Ripley' s request for rezoning is solely for <br /> the purpose of constructing an accessory building prior to <br /> building a home on the property. During a brief discussion with <br /> the Dane County Zoning Department we were told that Mr. Ripley <br /> may be able to achieve this by filing for a variance or a <br /> conditional use permit etc. under R-1 zoning to complete this <br /> building. <br /> During further discussion with the Dane County Zoning Department <br /> we were informed that A-2 ( 4 ) zoning could allow the owner or <br /> subsequent owners to have a limited number of farm animals and <br /> may even allow conditional use for things such as a dog kennel <br /> etc. <br /> We believe it to be in the best interest of all parties involved <br /> that the Zoning Commission and the Town BOerd allow Mr . Ripley to <br /> build his accessory building prior to building his home under R-1 <br /> zoning rather than changing the zoning to A-2 ( 4 ) to maintain the <br /> residential quality of this area. <br /> Thank you for your attention to this matter. <br /> Tom and Gayle Ellis <br /> 2576 Tonto Tr.
