Attached is a sketch of the proposed intersection. This preliminary sketch shows the <br /> driveway being moved approximately 200 feet west of the present driveway. When developing <br /> highway improvement projects, WisDOT attempts to keep driveways a minimum of 500' back <br /> from minor side roads and 1000 feet back from major side roads. In actuality, we will only be <br /> back approximately 300 feet. The new proposed driveway will line up with the driveway <br /> across Baltes Road. The new driveway will get constructed as part of the project. The ketch <br /> also shows a line with diamonds on it. This is a corridor limit and access control line and not <br /> necessarily the right of way needed for the proposed facility. <br /> 2. It is probable that we will need to acquire land from this parcel for the construction. A <br /> vision corner will need to be established at the intersection of proposed USH 12 and Baltes <br /> Road and at this time we can't say exactly how land will be necessary. <br /> 3. On December 10 & 11, 1996, public hearings will be held on the Supplemental Draft <br /> Environmental Impact Statement. In order to proceed with further planning of the project, <br /> WisDOT needs a record of decision. If we get the decision the summer of 1997, we will be <br /> able to start right of way acquisition work in late 1998. This is a large project and will be <br /> accomplished in phases and we don't know where acquisition will start. Construction is <br /> scheduled to begin in 2001 and conclude in 2004.
