This proposed boarding/riding stable is in an agricultural preservation <br /> area of the Town of Deerfield. <br /> This is a previously approved rural homesite where there is a single family residence and a horse <br /> stable. <br /> The A-2(2) rezoning appears consistent and does not change the basic uses. <br /> However, the CUP is for horse boarding, riding stables, hay and sleigh rides, and unlimited <br /> livestock. <br /> There is a farm to the south, a nonfarm residence to the west and open farmland around the balance <br /> of the site. <br /> • With a site of 3.4 acres, only 3 horses or animal units are permitted on-site. The applicant <br /> indicates the intent to lease additional lands. <br /> • In fairness to other boarding stable operators, there should be sufficient land leased for the <br /> number of horses to be boarded, as well as some long-term commitment to the lease which <br /> can become one of the conditions if this arrangement is approved. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.) <br /> None. <br /> DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY <br /> None. <br />
