Pi l ' f p?C r,r,
City-County Bldg. Zf z' `: 1tn ,t
Madison,WI 53709
Dear Sirs:
This letter is in response to Zoning Petition 6777 which requests a zoning change to LC-1,
Limited Commercial to allow a construction contractor business on 0.63 acres located at 5966
CTH in the Town of Burke and Conditional Use Petition 1394 which seeks approval of a
telecommunications tower at 5960 Rattman Road also in the Town of Burke. Both items are
scheduled for review by the Zoning and Natural Resources Committee on December 17, 1996.
The proposed rezoning is within the City of Sun Prairie Urban Service Area and is designated by
the City's Comprehensive Plan for Suburban Industrial development. Under the guise of our
Plan, this type of land use would allow assembly operations, storage and warehousing facilities,
offices, and light manufacturing uses which are contained within enclosed buildings. How does
the proposed zoning and use conform to the City's long range plans for the area?
Regarding the proposed communication tower, it is adjacent to lands within the City's Urban
Service Area to the north and east which are proposed for residential development in the future.
What will the visual impacts be of the proposed tower on these future residences and existing
residences to the north and west?
Sincerely,
fo
Thomas F. Ashburn,AICP
City Planner
cc: Mayor
Gene Hensen
