5379 Mariners Cove Drive
#507
Madison , WI 53704
February 24, 1997
James VanDeurzen, Chairman
Zoneing & Natural Resourses Commission
% Jim Gregorious , Zoning Administrator
RE: Proposed Fletcher Condominium Project CUP #1408
Gentlemen:
My wife and I own a residence at 5379 Mariners Cove Drive, #507 , Madison ,
WI 53704 which is located in the town of Westport. As responsible concerned
property owners, we strongly oppose the subject development for the following
reasons,
- Increased population density in an already congested area
- Additional traffic and associated noise in an area of Westport with
Poor road conditions.
- Detrimental environmental impact. We frequently see deer, racoons ,
owls , fox, kingfishers , geese and many species of ducks. If
development continues there is concern that this natural beauty
will change.
As owners, we are also concerned that a four-story monstrosity of
a condominium squeezed into the limited space available will lower
our property values.
We would ask that the Dane County Planning & Developement Commission visit
the area before the meeting on February 25 to see our small corner of the
world. It is very close to perfect the way it is . Then , if you would, try
to show us a little empathy in your decision. This could be your neighbor-
hood and your concerns.
As for alternatives , you might consider a natural green where we could
continue to enjoy the wildlife we have.
Sincerely,
/i ales
Tom and Mary Ann Ward
