Since <br /> I will be out of town and unable to appear in person,this letter is to state my strong opposition to this <br /> proposed development for the following reasons: <br /> (1) Two of the Mariner's Cove condominium buildings(33 individual homes)will be significantly <br /> impacted by this development as the view out our living room windows will be of the REAR wall of the <br /> proposed 4-1/2 story building. The size and placement of the proposed project is not suitable to the <br /> small triangular piece of land it would sit on, nor will it be in harmony with existing structures. <br /> (2) Our property value will go down by at least$10,000 if this project proceeds as proposed to the <br /> Town of Westport Plan Commission. The same is true for all of the 33 Mariner's Cove condo units that <br /> will face this building. <br /> (3) Our neighborhood is filled to capacity with large, multi-family buildings including <br /> condominiums and apartments. A better use would be to combine single family homes along with some <br /> green space, single level condominium homes, or a neighborhood park. <br /> (4) I am concerned with neighborhood density,traffic and potential environmental harm to the <br /> Yahara River. While this project may fall within desired density requirements and meet other statistical <br /> types of measurement, it will destroy our neighborhood by absorbing precious green space and adding an <br /> imposing structure that does not complement the neighborhood. <br /> I am enclosing two photographs taken from our porch that overlooks the site. The first is our current <br /> view. The second illustrates the impact of this building on us, as well as 33 other owners at Mariner's <br /> Cove. They may not be professionally done, but I believe they illustrate the proximity and impact. <br /> While this development, in and of itself, is not bad, it simply does not blend well with existing residential <br /> homes. <br /> I am strongly opposed to utilizing the land for this proposed project and urge you to deny the conditional <br /> use permit being requested.
