(ju (" •
5/ - I .>cicat
L a ( t
/
Dane County Zoning b Resource Committee
I am writing this letter to oppose Mark Smithback's zoning request as a
concerned neighbor and a member of the Town of YOrk zoning committee. His
request was turned down at the zoning committee hearing because the woods
are located too far from the road. If Mark gets to build way back off the road
we will have many more requests and once having set a precedence will have
no way to turn them down. The committee also did not like the driveway going
across farm land. If these woods were located next to the road there would
be no opposition.
This request is not in the interest of protecting Dane County's farm land
and trying to control housing going up all over without a plan.
94Zegi"./
Helen Rebel
This letter is in regards to the zoning request pursued by Mr.
Smithback in the York Township. I am a member of the York
Township Zoning Committee. Our committee had already unanimously
turned down this zoning request on two occasions. -In my mind , I
believe the presence of the lawyer at the board meeting
intimidated the Town Board into overriding our committee' s
decision. If Mr. Smithback is emotionally attached to the land as
stated , the existing family homestead already resides on the
property in a more suitable location with better access to the
existing road network. Today there are at least eleven other
wooded areas within a one mile radius of the location Mr.
Smithback has chosen to build on. Are we to assume that
precedence has been set and now all wooded areas in York Township
are eligible for development?
Sincerely,
Dwal c ernecker
York Township Zoning Member
