•
Lynn Reining
4580 Garfoot Rd.
Cross Plains, WI 53528
Dane County Planning & Development
Zoning Division
Room 116 City-County Bldg.
Madison, WI 53709
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing in regard to the zoning application 6869 which would change 3.02 acres
south of 4576 Garfoot Rd. from A-1 EX (Exclusive Agricultural) to LC-1 (Limited
Commercial). I oppose any change in zoning for this piece of property for four
reasons. Firstly, this proposal goes against local and regional efforts to limit urban
sprawl. Secondly, a commercial business, regardless of size or type, does not fit with
. the primarily agricultural and residential nature of our neighborhood. Thirdly, Garfoot
Rd. is a winding road with many blind corners. Any increase in traffic would be
dangerous for the current residents and for the many bikers that use this road for
recreation. Lastly, the proposed area of development is very near Garfoot Creek and
likely to cause silt and pollutants to enter one of the few creeks clean enough to
support trout in the state. Please reject this application and limit commercial ventures
to areas the county has designated for that purpose.
Sincerely,
Lynn Reining
