Tom Borchert 4146233431 P. 17
•
r
rent within a reasonable distance because of the lucrative government set a
side programs. If we let this happen, then we all deserve to starve to death or
become dependent on some foreign country and stand in line waiting to get
some bread or rice for your next meal.It is my understanding that the only
reason the C.U.P. was issued for.thuis airport on prime agricultural land was
because you can not put an airport on a hill or in a marsh or on top of a
woods. So let's either use it for what the original C.U.P. was issued for or
turn it back in to productive farm land.
When the airport was operated under Jeff Baxter it was an acceptable
operation with the people of the neighborhood. Very few problems ever
arose, and the few that did got solved without the township ever getting
involved. If development is allowed in this area there will sooner or later be
conflicts that the township will have to get involved in.We think there are far
too many other ways for our town board to be spending their valuable time
than resolving these issues that started because we allowed residential
development of the airport. We are not sure what the town is liable for in an
accident at the airport, but if it's not liable for anything, just think of what the
cost could be proving it if named in a lawsuit. Do the people of the town want
to take this chance? Further more, similar airport development has killed
many of the grass strip type of airports already with either being shut right
down or such restrictive hours for usage it may as well be shut down.
Yes, we understand that only one RH-1 lot is proposed but that is how
many large developments start. We feel now is the time to put this issue to
rest permanently and preserve the township as it is. If you look at the lack of
development in the township, it is very obvious that the members of the town
do not support it or want it.
We are sure there are many other reasons why no residential
development at the airport is the only thing that makes good logical sense.
llowever my wife and I hope that you will give great consideration to the
reasons that we have in the above paragraphs when making your decision on
Danny Martinson and zoning petition #6880
Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. if you have
any questions or want to call and discuss this zoning petition feel free to
contact us at either my office (608) 242-5288 or at home (414) 623-375
... . . a .J f 1 B-4 tM TIC ! .. •...•• r •i•. - _.
: .. $irlcej:ely
Douglas & Roseann Spangler
p,
