These rezones are part of an existing airport,which existed prior to adoption of the <br /> York Land Use Plan and A-1 Exclusive Agricultural zoning. <br /> The A-2 parcel with a CUP for airport use appears consistent if it is clearly understood that this rezoning does not <br /> allow any residential use. <br /> The RH-2 proposal appears to conflict with the airport use and adopted policy. <br /> While there may be a rationale for an owner/operator to live on-site, rezoning it to RH-1 with a delayed effective <br /> date implies a rural non-farm homesite. This would be incompatible at this site adjacent to the runway of the <br /> airport. <br /> In addition,the town/county plan has the following policies: <br /> 4. To limit nonfarm residential development to those areas which are not classified as prime <br /> farmland <br /> 5. To direct development away from productive agricultural lands. <br /> Staff Comments <br /> According to the application and the soil maps,this entire site proposed for RH-1 is prime/productive farmland.It <br /> was a cornfield along the runway this past growing season. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.) <br /> None <br /> DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY <br /> None <br /> OTHER <br />
