We are asking to parcel off a ten acre piece of property which consists of 8.4 acres of heavily wooded land. We are selling off a ten acre parcel which was created in the 1960's as a multi family parcel, and is considered poor crop land as it is heavily wooded. The intent by the McFee family upon the original purchase of this land was to put several homes upon it at a later date. The current zoning allows one home to be built upon it per the fact that it was created prior to the Land Use Plan which is now in force. Due to a job relocation as well as other factors, it is being sold to a neighbor and his daughter, who are hoping to build two homes upon it. We feel that 10 acres of heavily wooded land is not efficient use for one home and are hoping to allow two homes to be placed upon it. We have appeared in front of the Town of Springfield Board and have their full agreement on this issue. We all feel that using the full ten acre parcel for one home site would be completely inefficient and are hoping to increase that town's tax base by separating this into two RH-2 parcels. Construction of one of the single family homes is slated to begin during the spring of 1996 when the weather permits, and the second piece will follow.
