She doesn't see that many people in per hour, probably one parent to two
children.
Mrs. Kehl stated the school has been empty a long time. Karen stated they are
depending on corporation funding to help support the school. Mrs. Kehl thought the
idea was fantastic and wants to see the school put to some use, it deserves to be used.
Discussion on number of children, chaperones, field trips, square footage of the
building that is usable, starting out small with 3 classrooms and ossibl
p y growing larger
if it takes off well, etc. Chairman asked Jeff if he will support the business. Jeff stated
he would support the business on an ongoing basis.
There being no further comments, the Chairman closed the Public Hearing.
Motion by Walters to approve Al with CUP #1254 for private school under Dane
County Ordinance 10.12 (1)(n) if approval is granted by DILHR.I Franz asked if this
section had any limitations on how they design the private school, children, activities,
etc. Walters stated if it was for daycare it would be limited to 8 children. Because it's a
private school it will be controlled by DILHR. Second by Franz. Motion carried; 3 ayes,
1 nay, Kempfer.
Jeff asked Kempfer why she opposed it. She stated one of the reasons was she
questioned the likeliness of this taking off. Also concerned about number of children
that will be on the property. She has never seen a facility like this and perhaps, with
more experience, she would say yes to it.
Walters motioned to amend the previous approved motion to place a one year
stipulation on it to see if it goes, then we can see if we want to renew it. The year will
commence with date of occupancy. Second by Franz. Motion carried, 4 ayes.
Q 4 - / - zd/
