This proposed hotel location is adjacent to another motel, within the <br /> Central Urban Service Area where public sewer and water service is available. <br /> The site is currently vacant with vacant land, a commercial building,fast food, and a gas station to the <br /> east; apartment buildings across the road to the southeast;two motels to the south; and a major <br /> interstate interchange to the west and north. <br /> We note that there is a bingo establishment under construction at the intersection of Millpond and <br /> Savannah Roads. <br /> According to the adopted town/county plan for Blooming Grove,this proposal appears consistent with <br /> the following relevant policy: "Major commercial development shall be required to locate in the urban <br /> service area. Commercial development shall be primarily encouraged at the I-90 and Hwy. 12& 18 <br /> interchange area." <br /> While the use is consistent with policies for the area, we note that the cumulative effect of additional <br /> commercial development in this area will necessitate roadway improvements to accommodate the <br /> additional traffic. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.) <br /> None. <br /> DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY <br /> None <br /> OTHER <br /> None. <br />
