TOWN OF DEERFIELD <br /> Deerfield, Wisconsin 53531 <br /> AN ORDINANCE <br /> REGULATING THE DRIVEWAYS WITHIN THE TOWN OF DEERFIELD <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 9411—I <br /> The Town Board of the Town of Deerfield, Dane County, <br /> Wisconsin, DO ORDAIN as follows: <br /> 1. 01 No person, firm, or corporation shall establish or <br /> construct a private driveway or in-drive, nor shall any person, <br /> firm, or corporation proceed with the grading of a driveway <br /> without first obtaining the a driveway permit from the Town <br /> Board. Approval of private driveways will be granted in <br /> compliance with the following standards. The Town may vary from <br /> these standards, on a case-by-case basis as provided for herein, <br /> in actions involving agricultural and commercial use. <br /> 1. 02 A fee for the establishment or construction of any <br /> private driveway shall be paid prior to the issuance of any <br /> permit for said construction. Fees shall charged based upon the <br /> number of lots accessible from the driveway. The fee schedule <br /> shall be established by the Town Board and may be amended by the <br /> Town Board as it deems appropriate. <br /> 1. 03 Driveway construction will not be permitted to bisect <br /> farmlands. In cases where there is no other option, driveway <br /> construction may be permitted along line fences or other natural <br /> features currently dividing farmlands. <br /> 1. 04 Driveways may be shared but shall be limited to provide <br /> access to no more than 4 dwelling units or parcels. Any driveway <br /> proposed for joint use shall be required to have recorded <br /> multi-party access easements and maintenance agreements reviewed <br /> and approved by the Town. <br /> 1. 05 The residential driveway bed must be covered with a <br /> minimum of 6" of gravel or crushed rock. The gravel or rock must <br /> be of a road construction surface grade. The driveway must be <br /> maintained in a condition that complies with these <br /> specifications. <br /> 1. 06 At the entrance to a Town, roadway, at the discretion <br /> of the Town Board and Plan Commission, each driveway shall have a <br /> culvert tapered at both end walls, of no less than 24' in length, <br /> and no less than 18" in diameter. The gravel in drive section <br /> abutting the public road pavement shall have a minimum width of <br /> 20' to a minimum perpendicular distance of 24' . To prevent <br /> -1- <br />
