STATEMENT REGARDING REASON FOR REZONING REQUEST <br /> The Town of Pleasant Springs anticipates need for additional <br /> space adjacent to the existing Town Hall property in the near <br /> future. A Sheriff ' s Department southeast precinct addition <br /> is contemplated, and the Town is also proceeding with the <br /> erection of a new salt storage shed. These demands, together <br /> with the necessary parking, access, and storage areas, already <br /> make the existing Town Hall property too small for properly <br /> serving the needs of the public. The Town of Pleasant Springs <br /> has approved the acquisition of the subject parcel consisting <br /> of about 4 .6 acres at a special Town Meeting held , <br /> October 4 , 1994 . <br /> The purpose of the rezoning is to provide additional land <br /> for future needs of the Town of Pleasant Springs for Town Hall <br /> purposes, including storage, parking, potential site of future <br /> storage buildings, and related Town government uses . This is <br /> an unusual opportunity to acquire additional land for the Town <br /> which only comes along on very rare occasions. <br /> The requested zoning designation of "C-2" with a Conditional <br /> Use Permit for governmental uses is requested because that was <br /> the recommendation of the Dane County Zoning Department. The <br /> Zoning Department was consulted prior to proceeding with this <br /> transaction, and it does appear that zoning designation "C-2" <br /> with Conditional Use Permit is most appropriate and in the public <br /> interest. It is for that reason that the rezoning to designation <br /> "C-2" and the Conditional Use Permit are requested, and the <br /> present owner the Town of Pleasant Springs concurs and joins <br /> in the recommendation of the Dane County Zoning Department. <br /> DATED this 2 day of Nov- , 1994 . <br /> V ' <br /> Je ey .
