ii Is
•
Cup - 3 is
The Bridle Barn
9736 Blue Valley Rd, Town of Blue Mounds
The Bridle Barn is an existing horse barn(circa 1875)that will become a faithfully restored barn and garden
setting available to be rented for gatherings of all kinds:weddings, anniversaries, reunions, private events.
Mission:Through a small 'agritourism/agritainment' business, a source of revenue will be provided to keep
the farm in the family and restore its existing buildings. Some statistics estimate that 83%of Wisconsin's
original barns have been lost to time and decay. As Jerry Apps,Author of'Barns of Wisconsin'stated,
"With every barn we lose-we lose a piece of Wisconsin's History".
Who: The Bridle Barn will be operated by property owners,Pamela Pennington and Mr.Robin Marohn.
Pamela spent her childhood years growing up on the horse farm and is passionate about saving and
restoring the old barn as a means to preserve the farm and its history.
Open When: May-mid October(Seasonal business)
Hours:Most events will be weekend/evening although some business functions may be during the
weekdays. Our intention is to provide people a unique and authentic rural experience without disturbing the
tranquility of the area. Hours(estimated) Sun-Wed 8am-10pm, Friday-Saturday 8am-Midnight
Supervisor An on-site staff person(who remains present for all events)will monitor and intervene when
necessary. No alcohol will be sold.
Sanitation: Clients will rent a porta potty'station'for events
Parking: A graveled parking area will be next to the barn(south)in the former horse corral area. For
physically challenged guests-there will be parking available closer to the main barn entrance area.
Renovation overview: All work will be guided by a licensed engineer, electrician&contractor and will
meet all applicable WI commercial codes.
Old Milk House-This tiny structure adjacent to the barn and next to the driveway will be repurposed to be
a charming spot to greet prospective clients and provide an office for the on site event supervisor.
Barn Renovation: The old barn's exterior will receive some decorative elements(lights,a few windows,
and cupolas). It will be restored using as much original material as possible. This will be a seasonal-only
business so there will be no heating or air conditioning. Decorative interior lighting and several large ceiling
fans will be installed. The large barn entrance-est 15 feet wide will be the main entrance.A 2nd egress will
also be created on the east side of the barn via a deck area.
Exterior Lighting: Several decorative exterior lights will be placed by the entrance/exits,as well as
decorative post lighting that will illuminate the driveway and parking areas.
Food Preparation: Clients can either arrange with caterers to supply food, or they can do it affordably by
supplying their own and using an outdoor grilling area a safe distance from the barn. .././
Il-
.
il,_ ✓'
, a-
