OVERVIEW <br /> Yahara Materials is currently operating in a mineral extraction site located in Section 34 of the Town of <br /> Cottage Grove. The subject property is owned by Gregory Hellickson. A nonconforming site exists <br /> north of the CUP boundary (see map). Yahara Materials is requesting that the committee act on a CUP <br /> that did not receive formal action back in 1995 when the petition was originally before the committee. At <br /> the same time,they wish to amend the CUP boundary. <br /> II. HISTORY&REQUEST <br /> Back in 1995,Yahara Materials, Inc. applied for a combination of rezone and CUP. The county process <br /> requires that the zoning become effective before the committee can formally act on the CUP. The zoning <br /> became effective but the committee never acted on the CUP. The ZNR public hearing was held on <br /> January 10, 1995.Although the CUP never received formal action,the zoning and CUP area was mapped. <br /> In addition,an error occurred during the mapping process in which the boundaries of the CUP area were <br /> not mapped properly. <br /> The applicant is now coming before the committee requesting formal approval of CUP 1218. At the same <br /> time they are requesting that a revised property description be attached to CUP 1218 that accurately <br /> describes the current operation.
