As you are no oubt aware, on April 11, 1995 the Dane <br /> County Zoning and Natural R sources Committee recommended approval <br /> of your rezoning petition. The Committee took that action knowing <br /> that your property is within the extraterritorial zoning <br /> jurisdiction of the Villag of DeForest. <br /> l <br /> I am writing to advise you that the Village of DeForest will not <br /> recognize an approval grated by the Dane County Board. The <br /> Village Attorney and the Co my Corporation Counsel agree that Dane <br /> County has no legal author ty in this matter. The County should <br /> have promptly forwarded your application to the Village to be <br /> addressed by a Joint Extraterritorial Zoning Committee composed of <br /> the three Town of Vienna s oervisors and three citizen members of <br /> the Village. That committer has been established and is authorized <br /> to review your petition. <br /> It is not the intent of the illage of DeForest to create any undue <br /> burden upon the property o ers. The Village was unaware of your <br /> rezoning petition until i ' was addressed at the County Zoning <br /> Committee meeting. <br /> To avoid the risk that approval of your petition will not be valid, <br /> I would encourage you to provide a copy of your petition to the <br /> Village of DeForest. I wi 1 assure that it is promptly addressed <br /> by the Extraterritorial Zoning Committee and the Village Board to <br /> avoid any unnecessary dela .
