condition. This is caused by the use of a culvert which extends beyond the width of the existing bridge
and delays the expansion of the flow downstream of the culvert. Under the 100-year flood, the low
section of the gravel road between County Highway JG and the bridge would be inundated by 1.6 feet
and 1.8 feet under the existing and proposed conditions, respectively. Most of the flood water would
flow downstream from this low section. Therefore, it is recommended that residents do not utilize this
bridge under flooding conditions.
The key parameters of the culvert which were determined by the HEC-RAS program are summarized
below:
Culvert material: corrugated aluminum
Culvert size: 7.5-foot diameter, 26-foot long, circular
Number of barrels: 1
Invert elevations: El. 938.94 feet (inlet), El. 938.36 feet(outlet)
Embedment: 6 inches
If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact me at
Yiying.xiong@ysjinternational.com or 608.408.7070.
.4601,14 „Air:0 _
Yiying Xiong, P.E., D.
