To: Dane County Zonii Board <br /> Wisconsin Department of Natural Res9Ces <br /> U.S. Corps of Engineers <br /> We, the undersigned, are opposed to Zoning Petition # 6195 to change the <br /> zoning from A-2 to RH-3 and to Special Exception Permit # 2607 to permit a road <br /> across a tributary to the Sugar River. Mr. Eberle proposes to build one or more homes <br /> on this Town of Verona land with access to Timber Lane via a road that will need to <br /> cross over an environmentally sensitive area. The area in question is a wetland with a <br /> spring fed stream that is a tributary to the Sugar River. This stream is flowing constant- <br /> ly and meets D.N.R. criteria as navigable waters every spring. We also believe the <br /> surrounding area to be a flood plain. The importance of wetland preservation is ob- <br /> vious by providing essential habitat for animals, protecting water quality, and reducing <br /> flood damage.
