E <br /> I . <br /> f <br /> 14 February 1994 <br /> COMMENTS BEFORE THE DANE COUNTY ZONING AND NATURAL <br /> RESOURCES BOARD REGARDING THE PROPOSED REZONING FOR A <br /> GARDEN CENTER BETWEEN STAGECOACH ROAD AND USH 14 IN <br /> THE TOWN OF CROSS PLAINS, WISCONSIN <br /> I would like to propose an alternative to the immediate approval of rezoning of land <br /> in the Town of Cross Plains for the proposed garden center. If the board would <br /> consider tabling the proposed zoning change request, the Village of Cross Plains <br /> may have an opportunity to try to establish an appropriate commercial district in <br /> the Village, within which the garden center proprietor might wish to locate. <br /> Although there are no guarantees, the Village will soon be taking up the issues of <br /> local land use planning and will likely try to establish a commercial/light industrial <br /> district in which businesses like the garden center could prosper. Simply waiting a <br /> while for the outcome of the Village's efforts may satisfy both the concerns of the <br /> citizens in the local community, and, in the long term may satisfy the proprietor of <br /> the proposed garden center. <br /> Additionally, since the Town of Cross Plains has not yet approved the request for a <br /> zoning change, action by the board at this time may be premature. <br /> Thank you for your consideration. <br /> 449. 4 414 <br /> Wm.
