Tevvy*ti Family Food
Center
2014 Main Street • Cross Plains, WI 53528 • (608) 798-3701
To: Dane County Zoning Commission
From: Terry J. Lancaster, Owner, Terry ' s Piggly Wiggly
Date: February 1 , 1995
Re: Veto of Zoning Petition #5898
I am writing this letter in response to the recent veto by
Richard Phelps on case 3713 , in which Jake Niesen asked for a
rezoning of the property from A-i Exclusive to AB and LC1 .
Mr Niesen did the landscaping on our Piggly Wiggly Project in
Cross Plains one year ago. In the process he had to work
closely with DNR Fish specialist Andy Morton and the Village of
Cross Plains, which has strict erosion control ordinances. This
project was the first of its kind using a filtration process .
A filtration process to clean contaminates from rain run-off.
The filtration process is a naturally occuring process assuring
high quality water for the Black Earth Creek, thus preserving
the Creek in its natural form.
In April, Mr. Niesen set up a garden center in the Piggly Wiggly
parking lot. The garden center was open from April to July.
During this time the center was a very professional run business,
It was always clean and safely run. The Piggly Wiggly and garden
center shared the same parking area without any incident. To
the best of my knowledge there was never any chemicals or
fertilizer stored on the property.
I personally have known Jake Niesen for four years . In that time
he has always been an honest, hard working businessman. He
would run a good clean environmentely safe operation, proving
to be a valuble asset for any community.
Thank you.
Terry caster
Owner/Terry' s Piggly Wiggly
Cross Plains, WI
•
q
