COMPOSITE REPORT - Page 2 APPLICATION NO. 6230 CUP 1235
STAFF COMMENTS
REGIONAL PLANNING
This proposed dog boarding kennel has an existing kennel building and a residence on-site.
There are single-family homes on all of the small lots shown in the vicinity. the area is wooded along
the west side of Evergreen Drive.
This area is designated as one of the few residential development areas in the town of Christiana,
recognizing the existing residential development. The relevant adopted town/county policy is:
"To allow some home businesses which will be reviewed on the basis of their present
and probable future impact on surrounding land uses. in considering rezoning for
such uses, conditions should be attached that assure:
- proper business access
- visual compatibility with surrounding area
- restrictions on expansion or re-use.
Comments:
- As noted above, this is a rural residential area, with space for some additional residential
development.
- Evergreen Road is a rural road with traffic primarily serving the houses in the area.
- The number of trees in the area provides some visual barrier from other houses.
- If this is approved, it needs to be limited to a specific number of dogs, such as 10 or 20.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.)
Consideration should be given to the provisions for controlling the odors and noise that can be
associated with this type of operation.
DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY
OTHER
