COMPOSITE REPORT - Page 2APPLICATION NO. 6261
STAFF COMMENTS
REGIONAL PLANNING
Petition 6261. This proposed multi-family rezoning is within the Kegonsa Limited Service Area where
public sewer service is available. However, the adopted town/county policy for this area is: "It is the
intent of the Town to discourage extensive urban growth around the lakes due to the deteriorating
effect of urban runoff on the water quality and neighborhood integrity."
Another related policy is: "Minimize population density by prohibiting new zoning for multi-family
residences, such as, but not limited to duplexes, apartments or condominiums."
This site has a convenience store to the south, single family homes to the west and north, and
undeveloped land to the east.
The proposed rezoning appears to clearly conflict with the adopted town/county policies of
discouraging urban growth and denying rezoning for multi-family housing in this lake-associated
service area
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.)
DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY
No Comment.
OTHER-HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Petition #6261, Section 25, Town of Dunn, once contained burial mounds. The
surface characteristics of these mounds may have been destroyed but there is a
possibility of the discovery of subsurface features including burials at this location.
