This is an existing mineral extraction site in the Town of Westport, which is
reflected in the town plan.
There are three houses to the northwest and a number of houses to the east which may be
impacted by the introduction of a concrete batch plant. The A-B zoned parcel to the west is a
grain storage facility.
The site is physically adjacent to and drains into Spring Creek, which flows into Six Mile Creek
and then into Lake Mendota. Water quality concerns include:
- Any spent wastewater, process water, or runoff from the pit should be directed to an
on-site retention pond to protect the creek.
- There should be a plan to minimize any potential spills of fuels or other contaminants,
including storage procedures.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH (septic, etc.)
DANE COUNTY HIGHWAY
C.U.P. 1140.
