JUN-14-1994 06:23 FROM DIST. 1 HWY TO
92572722 P.02/02
Wisconsin Department of Transportation
TMNSPORT '10N 01ITRICT 1
2101 w AT
.pgnt ser..t
June 2, 1994 .x+,WI 537042553
Ms. Barb Parra, Clerk
Town of Black Earth
Black Earth, WI 53704
Dear Ms. Panel:
Ifl
We have reviewed your request dealing with concerns of the Town as to the advisability of
Ong a request for access to Olson Road by the school district. It would appear to us that
the usage of such an access would not be excessive and should not create any major problem to
the operation of the intersection. The access would be at least 150 feet from Hwy 14 and allow
for right turns without undue interference.
Mr. David Friedman has been in contact with me and I have informed him of our opinion and
that we do have some other detailed concerns about interior traffic handling. We do want all
side access to driveways to be at least 100 feet off the highway right of way. There seems to
be some indecision as to requesting a second drive to the proposed new parking lot and we do
not see this as an impediment to a workable solution. Such a drive would require an advance
deceleration lane, however, we would not require a right passing lane at this time as we would
prefer to see how it functions without the passing lane.
I hope this satisfies your concerns. Please feel free to contact me at 608-246-5328 any time you
or other Town Baud members have questions.
Sinmfely
W°V
kriThomas B.
