o, PAYNE & DOLAN, INC.
,,44.100140)
May 2, 1994
Dane County Zoning Dept.
210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
City-County Bldg.
Madison, WI 53705
RE: Conditional Use Permit
Payne & Dolan, Inc., as Owner, hereby applies for a Conditional Use Permit forte property
described as: Tax Parcel #0511-102-9500. The legal description of the land is:-- `1/l, NW 1/4,
SEC 10, T.5N-R.11E, Town of Dunkirk, Dane Co.
Payne & Dolan, Inc. has been awarded the 1994 Dane county contracts, and other State,
County, Township and Village contracts for asphaltic concrete paving. One of these projects
is County Trunk BB, from County Trunk N to Ridge Rd. Payne & Dolan, Inc. wishes to erect
a portable asphalt plant at this site for the purpose of producing the asphalt mix to be used on
these and other projects. These projects will be completed during the 1994 construction season.
The expected date to start these projects is from July to September. The length of time the
asphalt plant will be at the site is four to six weeks. Since Payne & Dolan's ownership in 1980,
this has been a site for portable asphalt plants.
The area is currently zoned A-2, and has a current mineral extraction permit. This is a logical
site for the asphalt plant as the aggregates for the asphalt mixture will be taken from the same
site.
The portable asphalt plant requires no water, and is completely portable. No buildings of any
kind will be erected.
We would like the Committee to take action on this matter at the June 14th hearing.
Enclosed is a proposed site plan.
Sincerely,
,(2,- la"1-1
Dan Behrend
Project Manger
Encl
DPB/drt
ASPHALT PRODUCERS AND CONTRACTORS SINCE 1930
5338 Norway Grove School Road
DeForest, WI 53532
(608) 846-4755
— An Equal Opportunity Employer —
