A brief syhopsis of the views of
those that were present are as follows:
JOHN VEER: My greatest concern or objection is this would create a very
bars traffic hazard, especially - the service road
intersection with Highway 51/„.
LAVE HUL_TS: My concerns are very 'mi lar- to other- neighbors; however-,
having a five mill ' dollar inventory of New ° Used
vehicles on the jacent lot, my concerns go much deeper-.
I am worried about the problem of vandalism to my vehicles
and property.
I talked with George Heina, owner of Ethen-Allen
Furniture Store located on Verona Road across from the I:rr-y
Bean (a country bar/restaurant) . The problems he has been
incurring have been extensive. Dry Bean customers taking
over Ethen--Allen parking facilities, rutting up the
landscaping, creating damage to the building. Mr. Heina
quoted, its become like trash city with beer- cans, debris
and other- related items". Mr. have Schutz, owner of the
Dry Bean is working with Mr . Heina on clean up and repair-
to the property, but yet the problems ar-e on going.
Fortunately for Mr . Heina his inventory is enclosed where
my vehicles will be exposed to whatever-.
I also spoke with Mr. Baxter, owner of Kayser Ford 'in
Madison, who had similar- concerns of vandalism due to the
Shuffle Inn (bar/restaurant). I realize the Shuffle Inn
did not have legal parking, but when Kayser- Ford tried to
stop the Shuffle Inn customers from par king in their lot,
the customers retaliated by keying their- vehicles, denting
hoods and kicking in fenders plus placing different kinds
of debris all over the lot. It was an on going clean up
problem.
I am also very concerned about the parking problem and
the enforcement of it. the culdesac right in front of the
proposed bar/restaurant which is suppose to be for turn
around for all traffic will be very suppose for overflow. If
parking does occur in the culdesac it will cause major
safety problems for vehicle transport haulers. It would
cause a real safety problem if we had to start unloading
vehicles on Hwy 51 .
With the anticipated capacity of 600 patrons, adequate
parking would be crucial . And with that type of
anticipated traffic I would think that it would develop a
lot of conjestion, confusion and hazardous conditions on a
dead errri culdesac road.
QC%
Irave Hu) is
GARY DVORAK: Our concerns are much like have Hultss and John Veek.
We too are worried about vandalism to our property. We
IFS MARIE.: are concerned about the possible traffic hazard that
would occur if the large transporters were to unload
ROBERT LINNF_RIJD: vehicles from Hwy 51. . Also, we are concerned about
water run off from the strl_Ic tur'n 3 of the hill .
a y 1 r-a •.
m
Les Mate-
(o'er . i.nrrerw-
