C•
OUNTY OF DANE 4
CORRESPONDENCE MEMORANDUM
Dane County Zoning - Rm. 116 City-County Bldg.
Madison Wi 53709 - PH: 608/266-4266 - Fax 608/266-4154
DATE: August 24, 1994
TO: Fran Brilliant
FROM: Bill Fleck, 0~-
Zoning Administrator
608/266-9083
SUBJECT: CUP 1166 - Olson, Town of Rutland
I, at your request, inquired of the Zoning & Natural Resources
Committee at their meeting on 08/23/94 whether they would consider
allowing the construction of a berm in lieu of the 6 ' high fence
which was imposed as a condition on the CUP. Their response was
no, the condition was imposed to provide protection for the
adjoining properties and in their opinion a berm would not be
adequate.
Also, for your information, Tom Budden stated at the public hearing
on 07/12/94 "as far as the fences, I'm not opposed to doing that,
and I'd rather do it if it was - you know - if it would make
everybody feel better, I 'd rather do it right off the bat" . Lyman
Anderson, Chair of the committee also specifically asked Mr. Budden
if he did say he was amenable to having a fence on both sides to
control vandalism, Mr. Budden answered in the affirmative. These
statements were made with regard to the potential of patrons
trespassing on other properties and is a part of the taped record
of the hearing.
