• .
Our methods of extracting and sequence of operations are as
follows:
(1) Place erosion control devices before any work is
to start .
(2) Remove topsoil from proposed areas and stockpile
at the locations designated on maps. These areas
will be upland and protected from erosion.
(3) Excavate material and use fro new highway. This
process includes continuous grading and shaping of
proposed areas to maintain proper drainage and
prevent ponding.
(4) After excavation is complete, grade and shape area
to consistent with original drainage patterns.
(5) Restore topsoil to a minimum depth of four inches.
(6) Reseed and fertilize with Department of
Transportation approved quality.
(7) Final slopes shall not be graded more than 3 :1 .
The equipment to be used are standard to highway excavation
processes. There are no proposed areas for ponding, nor any
proposed drainage modifications .
These properties are suitable for the proposed use for many
, reasons . This proposed excavation is not hazardous ,
offensive or otherwise adverse to the environment or value
of the area and will not conflict with its present and
neighboring uses.. The proximity of the properties to the
construction site is important . This will eliminate any
construction equipment from having to cross or travel on
nearby highways that are open to traffic, thereby
eliminating traffic hazards .
Again, these proposed sites will render fill material for
the construction of the USH 18 Verona Bypass . Acceptance by
your committee will benefit the welfare of the general
public facilitating increased public health and safety.
Sincerely,
ai;67 //..11/4 )
Martin D.
