r
•
4 v
C B B
COMMUNITY BUSINESS
BANK
September 13, 1994
Mr. Bill Fleck, Zoning Administrator
City County Building, Room 116
210 Martin Luther King Blvd.
Madison, WI 53709
RE: Duane L. Haag d/b/a DH Repair Shop
Dear Mr. Fleck:
Community Business Bank would like to voice its support to the above named party and business
in lifting the current restriction on the number of vehicles that may be present outside the business
facility at any particular time. As a lending institution, this type of deed restriction devalues the
property from both its current use and from a resale value perspective.
Mr. Haag's business is continuing to grow and this type of restriction hinders his livelihood, as
well as the continued viability of his business. DH Repair Shop exemplifies the type of small
business that is supporting rural America. What was first started as a part time business over a
decade ago now provides a valuable service to the community, as well as employment for Duane,
his wife, Joyce, and another full-time young man. This is progress, please do not hinder it!
To support the progress of his business, Mr. Haag has chosen to build a new facility. This
decision was not made lightly, nor was it made without considering the resources available. In
exploring all options, Duane chose to locate his new building in a place that is both convenient to
his customers and himself. Let's support him in this decision and continue to allow DH Repair
Shop to grow and flourish. DH Repair Shop's growth and prosperity is good for the local
economy, as well as the county and state.
I urge Dane County, and the appropriate parties, to reconsider the zoning and deed restriction
upon Mr. Haag's property and business. In advance, thank you for your consideration of this
matter.
Respectfully,
•
,,IL,l TY BUS
De ra '
President & CEO
1111 SYCAMORE STREET P. 0.
