This proposed beauty salon is an existing residence in an unsewered development <br /> area of the Town of Springdale. This appears to be an expansion of an existing home business. <br /> This site is about half way between Verona and Mt. Horeb, surrounded on three sides by <br /> farmland, with a residence to the west and a residential subdivision to the south across the <br /> highway. <br /> Adopted policies indicate that commercial development should locate in or adjacent to urban <br /> areas, be compatible with adjacent uses, be served by public sewer, and rezone only the area <br /> needed. <br /> This proposed expansion is troublesome in that it is incremental from an allowed home <br /> occupation to a limited family business. If this expansion is successful, the next step is <br /> commercial zoning.
