•
SEP131994
RECEIVED 6092 Imperial Drive
ZONING DIV. Waunakee, Wisconsin 53597
September 11, 1994
Dane County Zoning Department
Room 116 City County Building
Madison, WI 53709
Re: ZONING PETITION 6057
Dear Zoning Department:
Because I had a special Plan Commission meeting scheduled in
advance of my notice of your hearing on the above referenced
matter, I will be unable to appear in person and oppose this
petition. Therefore, I write to you and wish you to record my
opposition to this petition.
I have served on the Town of Westport Plan Commission since 1975.
I was an active participant in the planning process the Town
undertook in 1989 which resulted in our present Town Plan adopted
in January, 199 .. The Town of Westport
planning process which resulted in numerous rforli am extensive
which town residents developed public meetings an
p priorities they wished the Plan
Commission and the Town Board to use to make planning decisions.
Those citizen desires were incorporated into the current Town Plan.
Specifically, I quote from Part V Urban Service Area, section D
Urban Service Area Policies "to guide decision-making regarding the
extension of sanitary sewer and other related urban services within
the Westport portion of the Central Urban Service Area, the
following Central Urban Service Area Policies, and Limited Urban
Service Area Polices are provided" . (page 39) Please note from your
staff supplied information that the adjacent area to the proposed
rezoning is a limited urban service area.
Under the heading LIMITED URBAN SERVICE AREA POLICIES, the plan has
the following language: To provide limited urban services
necessary to solve a problem resulting from only existing
development in the Limited Service Area. URBAN SERVICES SHOULD NOT
BE PROVIDED TO SERVE NEW OR PROSPECTIVE DEVELOPMENT. " (page 39)
It is very clear to me that the Zoning Petition 6057, which
proposes to change the zoning from RH-2 to R-1 is not in compliance
with the Town of Westport Land Use Plan nor is it in compliance
with a proposed amendment to the Land Use Plan-Limited Urban
Service Area.
