August 26,1994
To: The Zoning and Natural Resources Committee
From: Paul A. and Cynthia J. Mc Intosh
Re: Rezoning and Conditional Use Permit
We have made an accepted offer to purchase a parcel of land described as the
Mahoney land west of county Z in the S 1/2 of the SE 1/4 in section 19 T6N R6E in the
Town of Blue Mounds. (A portion of parcel number 05-0606-194-9500-0) The parcel
we are purchasing is approximately 42 acres in size and we wish to rezone two acres
from Ag -1 to A-2 for our homesite.
We are applying for the rezoning and a conditional use permit so that we can have a
bed and breakfast in our home. Upon approval we will begin construction in the
spring of 1995 and open the bed and breakfast in the summer of 1996. The 42 acre
parcel is partially wooded and quite hilly. Approximately 15 acres are tillable while the
balance is unsuitable for tilling. The two acre portion we wish to rezone is classified as
soil type sogn, a shallow soil, over dolomite and is too steep for tilling. A surveyors
description of the two acre portion within the 42 acre parcel is included.
The property is located within 30 minutes of golf courses, bike trails, and the retail
areas in Mt. Horeb, Mineral Point, and New Glarus. The natural serenity of the property
and the immediate area will make our bed and breakfast appealing to guests.
I have included a tentative floor plan of the building and the approximate location of
the building on the two acre portion of the 42 acres.
In addition, King and Sharon Mahoney are requesting a rezoning a different portion of
the same piece of property from Ag -1 to RH - 2. This request is made to separate the
old farm house and barn from the rest of the farm. Currently the Mahoney"s daughter
and son-in-law and family are living in the farmhouse. A legal description of the
property is included with the materials.
Sincerely,
Paul and Cindy Mc Intosh
4535 Winnequah Road
Monona,Wl 53716
(608) 222-7099
