Gerald Bradley
5209 Highway N
Sun Prairie, Wi. 53590
2119
October 19, 1994 r Lidu
TO: Zoning and Natural Resources Committee
The Twenty-six Acre Parcel that I am asking to be
rezoned is not Class I, or prime farmland.
The soil type that is considered to be Class I , or
prime farmland in the Town of Sun Prairie is called
Plano. The U. S.D.A. Soil Conservation Service rates
this soil type at 150 bushel per acre.
There are three different soil types on this parcel.
Dodge Silt Loam, which is rated at 80 bushel per acre.
Mc Henry Silt Loam which is rated at 90 bushel per acre.
Virgil Silt Loam which is rated at 125 bushel per acre.
When you add these numbers together, you will get an
average of about 100 bushel per acre.
This particular parcel is a triangle. There are no two rows
that run the same length. It became a triangle when the road
was built . There are two culverts that run under the road,
and lead into this parcel. This results in two permanent
waterways in the field, making this field very hard to farm.
There are approximately nine houses across the road.
There is a brand new house being built across the road
as you read this letter. The land to the east of this
parcel is being made into a nursery.
Thank you for your consideration in granting my request to
rezone this parcel.
Sincerely,
Gerald Bradley
