PETITION To: Planning Commission, Township of Springfield The Dane County Zoning Committee Case: C.U.P. 1083 For: Yahara Materials, Inc. Proposed use: The construction of a Concrete Batch Plant at subject location. Location: West of 4986 and 5018 USH 12, Section 35, E 1/2 NW, Town of Springfield, Area: 26 more or less Acres. This is to inform you that I/We are FIRMLY AGAINST the granting of a Conditional Use permit in the above listed case. The construction of a Concrete Batch Plant at the subject location will degrade the living condi- tions of major residential neighborhoods less than 1,000 yards from the proposed site. The establishment of such an industrial complex within the close proximity of these residential neighborhoods violates the criteria established in the Township and Dane County Land Use Plans, to wit — That the conditional use will not be SUBSTANTIALLY DETRIMENTAL to, or endanger,the public health, safety and general welfare. That other permitted uses, VALUES AND ENJOYMENT of other property in the neighborhood shall be IN NO FORESEEABLE MANNER SUBSTANTIALLY IMPAIRED OR DIMINISHED be establishment, maintenance or operation of the conditional use. That the conditional use will not have a SUBSTANTIALLY ADVERSE IMPACT on traffic congestion on public roads. The proper use of zoning laws is to establish areas devoted to commercial and industrial usage, and protect residential areas from encroachment of any such commercial or industrial usage. The granting of said Conditional Use Permit would severely encroach on an already established resi- dential neighborhood and would create serious environmental problems -which the Dane County Zoning Department has a duty to prevent.
