Hamilton St. Pm. 403 <br /> Madison, WI 53709 <br /> Dear Mr. Favour: <br /> At the July 7, 1993 meeting of the Village of DeForest Planning <br /> and Zoning Commission the following items were reviewed and <br /> recommendations were made: <br /> C.U.P. #1073 -- Manthe/Ziegler Mineral Extraction. A motion was <br /> made, seconded and passed unanimously to send a letter to your <br /> office with the following concerns: 1) signage on Highway 51 be <br /> upgraded for a truck entrance, 2) that an environmental impact <br /> statement be done in this area, with special concerns being given <br /> to groundwater quality as it will affect the DeForest area, 3) <br /> that some type of reclamation plan be put into effect as to when <br /> this pit will be closed and how it will be reclaimed, 4) recom- <br /> mend operation times from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and 5) that <br /> there possibly be a reduction of speed during operation hours on <br /> Highway 51 for trucks entering and exiting onto the highway. <br /> C.U.P. #1084 -- Madison Sand & Gravel Company. A motion was <br /> made, seconded and passed unanimously to send a letter to your <br /> office pursuant to C.U.P. #1084 with the recommendation that some <br /> type of plan be put in place for a site reclamation when the pit <br /> is closed and how the reclamation will occur. <br /> Thank you for your time and attention to these matters.
