97
•
July 13, 1993
Mr. Lyman Anderson, Chair
Dane County Zoning Department
Room 116, City-County Building
Madison, WI 53709
Dear Mr. Anderson:
We are writing this letter in opposition of the Zoning Petition #5697 for the building of a home for
Steve and Kathy Endres. The Endres' are requesting a rezone of 1.3 acres from A-lEx to R-1A to
allow for a buildable site.
We have lived at 7211 Hyer Road for the past 18 years and we enjoy living in the country very much.
I am sending with this letter a map of where our land is and where the Endres' would like to build
a home. The Endres' have 120 acres of land and we do not understand why they want to build right
next to our home. We would like them to look into other sites which would be located closer to the
actual farm. The location they want to build on is the northern most location they could get.
Another concern is that -currently the Endres' have the farm house (where a son lives), the parents
built a new home and now this third home for another son. What's to say that in five years the
parents who live in the new home might move to town and then each of the sons would live next to
each other by the farm. Then they would sell the home next to us.
Our last concern is safety. Our home is on a knoll and the new site drops down quite a bit. When
cars come from Highway P they pick up a fast rate of speed down our hill and the new location
would not be a safe place for a home. We would like a study to be done on the safety of this. Also
if the home would be built, we would have three driveways in a very small area. (Ours, the
McSherry's and the Endres')
Thank you for understanding our position in this matter. We have lived and enjoyed our home in
the country and hope to enjoy it for as long as we live. We plan to remain in our current home for
the rest of our lives.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
k : Jeanne Frosch
jmf
a:land
Attachment
