This site, formerly known as the Yahara Center, was originally built as a <br /> religious center, which was recently changed to a treatment center. Now the proposal is to rezone to B-1 <br /> Local Business to allow a business school and boarding house uses. <br /> The site is in a limited service area where sewer service is provided for existing development, but <br /> additional urban development is not planned for at this time. <br /> The building and facilities are existing. The proposed use appears to have similar impacts to previous uses <br /> of the facility. <br /> However, the B-i District permits many other commercial uses which would be incompatible in this <br /> residential area, such as: retail sales, storage of retail items, clinics, banks, recreation facilities, private <br /> clubs, theaters and auditoriums. <br /> Therefore, the site should be conditionally rezoned B-1 to allow only the specific uses requested: <br /> - school <br /> - dormitory facility <br /> - religious uses <br /> Thus, any expansion or other use is subject to review and public hearing. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DEPT.
