Town of Springdale • MOUNT HOREB, DANE COUNTY, WISCONSIN 53572 November 22, 1993 NOV 23 1993 Lyman Anderson, Chair RECEIVED Dane County Agricultural Zoning Committee ZONING DIV. 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Bvld., Room 118 Madison, WI 53709 Dear Chairman Anderson and Committee Members: This letter is a follow-up to the County Board meeting of November 18, 1993 at which time the issue of re- zoning petition 5760 for Symdon Motors was discussed. I wanted to take the opportunity to expand on a couple of issues that were raised on at the meeting. 1. With regard to my involvement and/or attendance at the Village of Mount Horeb's public hearings on the revision of their land use plan, you will recall that when asked if I had received notice of and attended any of these meetings, I said "yes, only one". For clarification, I only received notices of the public hearings, not the actual planning commission meetings, and there were three public hearings held that we are aware of. After checking I recalled that I had in fact, attended two of the three public hearings. 2. Our input into the Village of Mount Horeb's land use plan has been limited and restricted. We were only notified at the public hearing stage. We were not invited to give-input during its planning stages. If we had been included in this process, i.e. having a representative on this planning commission, we may have been able to avoid some of the current problems. 3. Most importantly, once the Village's land use plan was finalized, the Township of Springdale was not given the opportunity to vote on it. The Township of Springdale stands ready to provide any further information or help that your Committee may need to support this re-zoning request. Please feel free to contact me.
