Working at home is becoming a popular <br /> alternative to commuting to work and is <br /> encouraged in both public and private <br /> sectors. <br /> 3 . Combined residential/business use is <br /> compatible with existing neighborhood <br /> uses. Adjacent uses include a horse <br /> boarding stable with an owner-occupied <br /> residence and my home/office next door. <br /> Other uses include a hobby farm and <br /> campground about 1/4 mile away away and <br /> four single family homes which are at <br /> least one block from the proposed CUP. <br /> 4 . The proposed CUP area has no <br /> practical agricultural use because of <br /> its small size and distance from the <br /> nearest active farm but it provides a <br /> scenic view of lowlands and wildlife <br /> making it attractive as a homesite. <br /> In my opinion, the proposed CUP would be in <br /> compliance with the six Standards required <br /> for approval under Sec. 10.255(2 ) (h) : <br /> 1. Conditional Use as a residence would <br /> not be detrimental to or endanger the <br /> public health, safety, comfort, or <br /> general welfare. <br /> 2 . It would not affect the uses, values <br /> and enjoyment of other property in the <br /> neighborhood for purposes already <br /> permitted. <br /> 3 . Normal and orderly development and <br /> improvement of the surrounding property <br /> for permitted uses would not be <br />
